Richmond Earth Day Youth Summit

The Richmond Earth Day Youth (REaDY) Summit is an annual youth-led conference, presented in collaboration by the City of Richmond, the Richmond School District, and the David Suzuki Foundation. The REaDY Summit is an award-winning event and in 2016 was the first-place recipient of the Our Canada Project award, awarded through the Learning for a Sustainable Future organization. 2017 marks the 6th year of the event, and the theme, "Growing Towards Another 150" is reflective of the Canada150 festivities taking place throughout the City and country.

REaDY 2017 takes place on April 22, 2017 at Hugh Boyd Secondary School in Richmond. The REaDY Summit provides a unique opportunity for participants of all ages to engage with environmental and sustainability experts from across the region.

The 2017 youth keynote speakers are David Isaac and Abhayjeet Singh Sachal - two active environmental organizers in the region. Participants also have the opportunity to choose from 10 tailored workshops focusing on a variety of environmental topics, including sustainable food, water conservation, local ecology, recycling, youth leadership, and active transportation.
