Preschool and Out of School Care

Preschools at Richmond community facilities are designed to develop the whole child intellectually, socially, physically, emotionally and cognitively. A positive and encouraging learning environment is provided where children of various cultures and backgrounds share and learn about each other.

The preschool term is September through June with a winter and spring break. Registration must be in person at the facility listed.

Registration is ongoing. Please bring a $40 non-refundable registration fee.
Fees payable by cash, Visa, MC, American Express or cheque. If paying by cheque, post dated cheques for the remainder of the year are required.

For all licensed preschools, children must turn appropriate age by December 31, 2017.

Out of School Care

Quality licensed school age care for children ages 5-12. Our inclusive Out of School (OSC) Care programs are staffed with energetic and creative instructors that support children in a fun and nurturing environment. All programs adhere to government regulations and staff work closely with Richmond Health Services.
In-person registration is required for all Out of School Care programs.

West Richmond's OSC provides care for students from Gilmore, Dixon and Quilchena schools.

The program includes breakfast, an afternoon snack, coverage on professional and early dismissal days and during winter and spring break, and transportation to and from school.

Junior OSC (Kindergarten through Grade 2) is located at West Richmond Community Centre and offers age appropriate activities that emphasize the transition to the older Gilmore Program Senior OSC (Grades 3 through 7) located at Gilmore Elementary School.
