Points of Interest

shell road walkerShell Road Recreational Trail
The Shell Road Recreational Trail is long interior trail that runs north/south along the Shell Road corridor from Alderbridge Way to Williams Road. This interior trail has a distinctly rural feel to it with tall trees and shrubs lining both sides of it, making it a unique trail experience in an urban City Centre.

Tree damage can naturally occur, especially during wind storms and inclement weather; it is recommended that users exercise caution while enjoying the trail and watch for falling trees and/or branches.

Please Note: the Shell Road Trail is considered a Dogs Off-Leash area. Please see Dogs Off-Leash Areas for more information.

Richmond Nature Park
Nature interpretive centre, walking trails, a short boardwalk trail suitable for wheelchairs and strollers, unique bog vegetation, observation of birds and animals, picnic area, parking, washrooms. For more information, see Richmond Nature Park.

Bridgeport Recreational Trail

bridgeportThis ‘rail to trail’ is an east-west trail built on a former Canadian National (CN) rail corridor. Located between Shell Road and Van Horne Way this 1.5 km recreational trail travels through residential and industrial areas. Over time it will provide an important link between the proposed Shell Road Greenway and the Bridgeport waterfront.

Please exercise caution as you exit the recreational trail at Van Horne Way which is used by local industries as a truck route.

The closest cycling routes linking to this area are along Garden City and Sea Island Way. The Richmond Middle Arm recreational trail system is also close by, however access is through major intersections so it may be challenging.
