Fireworks cruises, day sails add to Ships to Shore adventures
21 June 2016
Get your sea legs ready for Ships to Shore Steveston 2016. This year’s festival is offering guests a chance to see Steveston’s nautical heritage from a brand new perspective. Thane, a Victoria-native tall ship built in 1972 and Aerial Sea, an environmentally-conscious catamaran will be offering festival guests a chance to sail through Steveston Harbour. Explore and watch for wildlife along the spectacularly scenic Strait of Georgia, all from a unique vantage point on the Fraser River. On Canada Day, enjoy a special night sail and watch a phenomenal fireworks display, presented by Dueck Auto Group, right from the water.
Ships to Shore Steveston is a free event that celebrates the community’s ties to maritime spirit and culture. From June 30 to July 2, nautical vessels will be available for free boarding. Ships to Shore Steveston will also include a Kid’s Cove children’s activities area presented by Tangerine, live music performances, dragon boating demonstrations, Chalk the Boardwalk art competition, plenty of fantastic food trucks and a wooden boat display. RE/MAX is the presenting sponsor for Ships to Shore.
“RE/MAX is proud to support Ships to Shore and the role it plays to nurture and foster the continual growth of the Lower Mainland’s cultural vibrancy,” says Bryan Furman, Chair, RE/MAX Lower Mainland Group Advertising Committee.
