Breathtaking melodies for Minoru Chapel Opera
25 April 2016
Opera lovers are invited to revel in the wide range of musical experiences from comedy to drama, revelation to fantasy and past to present. Great Arias and Duets for Soprano and Baritone will be presented by City Opera Vancouver in two performances on Wednesday, May 4. This will be City Opera Vancouver’s seventh appearance at the Minoru Chapel and their spectacular concerts invariably draw full houses.
City Opera Vancouver favourite, Tom Durrie, will host and share the stage with three of Vancouver’s most accomplished artists: Chloe Hurst (soprano), Samuel Chan (baritone) and Richard Epp (pianist) who will perform pieces from a variety of beloved operas including Pagliacci, La Bohème, Thaïs and The Magic Flute.
The May 4 concert is the second of three events in the Minoru Chapel Opera Spring 2016 season. For the final concert, Opera Opulenza will present Pietro Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana on Wednesday, June 1.
