Break a sweat for charity at South Arm Community Centre
05 January 2016
Start the new year off by doing good for your community and health at South Arm Community Centre. From January 11 to 17, for a donation of warm clothing or personal hygiene items, enjoy a complimentary spin, group fitness or yoga class for free as part of this centre’s inaugural “Drop-In, Drop-Off Week”.
Spin-Strength-Stretch, Yoga Basics and Total Body Conditioning are just a few of the 45+ drop-in fitness classes available. Spin-Strength-Stretch is a great way to try spinning for the first time as it includes indoor cycling drills and muscle and core strengthening, whereas Yoga Basics is designed to help improve your flexibility through core and balance exercises in addition to breathing and relaxation techniques.
Building on the success of annual fundraising events for organizations that include the Development Disability Association and the Heart and Stroke Foundation, this new event will collect donated items for community members in need. All items will be donated to the Richmond House Shelter, Nova House Women’s Shelter and St. Alban’s Outreach program.
Donated items may include warm clothing, shoes, new socks and baby diapers.
