Many of the Hot Facts sheets draw on the 2011 Census or the 2011 National Household Survey (NHS), as those are still the most up-to-date sources of information at the appropriate level of detail. The 2016 Census data will be released, in phases, and the Hot Facts will be updated accordingly. Statistics Canada released the following estimates (counts) of Richmond's population and dwellings:
