TAGOR: Elaine Quehl – A Design Journey

Textile Arts Guild of Richmond, with support from The Richmond Arts Centre presents Award-winning Canadian quilt artist, teacher and designer, Elaine Quehl offering a digital presentation and trunk show of her recent work.

A good design primer, this public lecture shares what she
has learned about composition and design over the years. Elaine is best known for colourful, nature-themed art quilts featuring luscious foliage, flowers and trees. Her work is a visual celebration of the drama unfolding in the natural world. She was the Canadian Quilter’s Association Teacher of the Year in 2015.

Music in the Rotunda
Date: Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm
Location: Richmond Cultural Centre Rotunda

Local musician Rob Fillo will fill the Rotunda of the Cultural Centre with his sweet sounds.  Grab a cup of something hot from Leləm’ and enjoy his acoustic guitar and heart-warming lyrics.

Richmond Youth Dance Company
Every March, the Richmond Youth Dance Company presents original shows featuring ballet choreography as well as new works presented by guest artists.

Annual School Year Dance Recital
Each year in June, students from our dance and musical theatre programs perform in our annual school year recital held at the Gateway Theatre. These performances are the culmination of the students’ achievements for the year and are the highlight of our school year program.

Richmond Youth Media Festival
A festival organized by youth for youth, Richmond Youth Media Festival is a unique hands-on opportunity for young people to engage in the exciting world of digital media. Get ready to be wowed by the award winning films, making your own animation, videos, Gifs, music and showcase your talent together with professional media artists at the Your Kontinent Digital Carnival! Exhibition Opportunities
In addition to the Upper Rotunda of the Richmond Cultural Centre, Gateway Theatre, South Arm Community Centre, Thompson Community Centre and the Richmond Arts Centre have teamed up to provide exhibition opportunities for local Artists. The Arts Centre curates 2D exhibitions that are loosely connected to the themes of each individual theatre production. The exhibition is displayed in the lobby of the theatre.
