City Councillor Linda McPhail

First elected to City Council in 2011, Linda is serving her second term on Council.  She is proud to be a lifelong resident of Richmond who, together with husband Terry, raised their 3 children in Richmond.

Prior to being elected to council, Linda served as a school trustee with the Richmond Board of Education from 2002-2011, 7 years as the Chairperson. 

A passionate volunteer, Linda has been active in the Richmond community in many areas - serving on the Board of Seafair Minor Hockey Association for 9 years, the Board for the Richmond Arena's Community (RACA) for 6 years, a member of the Richmond Hospital Auxiliary for 20+  years, the Nite of Hope and the 2009 BC Seniors Games. In 2014 Linda was a volunteer mentor with the Canadian Women Voters Congress.

Linda is currently Chair of the Planning Committee and a member of the Finance, General Purpose, Community Safety and Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services committees.  She is the Council Liaison to the following advisory committees, organizations and community associations:  Council/School Board Liaison Committee, Minoru Major Facility Stakeholder Advisory Committee, Canada 150 Celebration Steering Committee, Thompson Community Association and the Richmond Public Art Advisory Committee.

Linda was appointed to the Metro Vancouver Intergovernment and Finance - Regional Culture Sub-Committee and serves as the alternate to the second Director on the Metro Vancouver Board and as the Mayor's alternate to the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority (TransLink ) 

Linda received the LGLA Certificate of Local Government Leadership Level 1 at the UBCM in September 2013 the Level Two – Certificate in Advanced Local Government Leadership in September 2016.
