Preschool French Program Instructor

Applications are now being accepted for a Specialty Preschool Instructor- French position with City Centre Community Association. The successful applicant will be working in the French Fun Parent and Tot, and Preschool program. This position involves the planning, delivery and leadership of an inclusive program, featuring learning and exploring Canada's official second language through play, music, art and stories to introduce families considering French immersion enrollment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate play, music and art activities with supporting weekly lesson plans that are creative, flexible and adaptable
  • Responsible for direct supervision, leadership, and volunteers
  • Supervise, instruct and build relationships with families and children through planned activities
  • Provide a safe, positive, and well-managed learning environment
  • Instruct developmentally appropriate specific language skills
  • Responsible for the purchase of necessary supplies

Required Qualifications

  • Intermediate knowledge in conversational French
  • Grade 12 plus 200+ hours of experience working with preschoolers or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C
  • A successful police information check

  • An additional language (different from English and French)

Hours

  • Every Saturday, July 8 – August 19 from 11:15am – 1:45pm. With additional weekly planning hours. Schedule may be subject to change.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $21.00 - $29.00, depending on experience and qualifications
